A YMCA Aquatics Director is responsible for leading and managing all aquatic programs and facilities to ensure safety, quality programming, and alignment with the YMCA’s mission.
The Aquatics Director oversees the daily operation and long-term development of the YMCA’s aquatic programs and facilities. This role is responsible for ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming aquatic environment; supervising and training aquatics staff; maintaining compliance with YMCA, local, state, and national safety regulations; and delivering high-quality programs such as swim lessons, lifeguarding, aquatic fitness, and swim teams. The Aquatics Director plays a key leadership role in member engagement, risk management, budgeting, and program growth while promoting the YMCA’s values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
· YMCA Team Leader certification preferred.
· One to two years of related experience preferred (e.g., as an aquatics coordinator or supervisor).
· Minimum age of 21.
· Within 30 days of hire, completion of Child Abuse Prevention, Working with Program Volunteers, CPR, First Aid, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens training, and Lifeguard.
· Completion of YMCA aquatics training and trainer certifications.
· Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
· Within 90 days of hire, completion of Certified Pool Operators Certification.
Essential Functions
1. Ensures programs and services meet community needs, including supervising existing program activities, establishing new program activities, and expanding the program within the community as needed. Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information.
2. Monitors daily pool operations to adhere to all state, local, and YMCA health and safety regulations and conducts and ensures proper maintenance of pools. Maintains accurate records of pool chemical levels and facility maintenance.
3. Recruits and hires diverse staff and volunteer teams across multiple dimensions of diversity. Onboards and develops them for success. Conducts lifeguarding, swim instruction, First Aid, and CPR training. Ensures records of staff certifications are current and complete.
4. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations. Maintains regular, clear, and concise communication within the area of responsibility.
5. Manages the program, including developing and monitoring the program budget to meet fiscal objectives; compiling program statistics to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in the program; securing and scheduling the pool facilities; and creating and scheduling the classes.

Job Title: Part Time Teaching Assistant Infant/Toddler and Preschool

POSITION SUMMARY:
Assist with day-to-day classroom operations and provide a safe and developmentally appropriate early childhood program in accordance with all relevant legislation, policies and procedures in harmony with the mission statement and policies of the YMCA of Marquette County. Must be available 3:30 -5:30PM most days.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assists in routine caregiving needs (feeding, dressing, diapering/toileting)
- Meet the emotional and developmental needs of each child
- Assists in establishing and maintaining a learning environment that is engaging, developmentally-appropriate, safe and sanitary
- Assist with lessons as assigned by Lead Teach or Child Development Director
- Model, facilitate and explain appropriate child and adult behavior
- Positively address and redirect inappropriate child behavior
- Develop positive relationships with participants and provide motivational support and guidance
- Assist with ensuring safety and cleanliness of equipment and facilities
- At the discretion of the Child Development Director, attend all staff meetings, workshops and seminars to increase knowledge and skills and complete 24 hours of annual continuing education to meet state and national licensing rules and accreditation standards
- Follow all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Complete incident and accident reports as necessary
- Handles and resolves family concerns and informs Child Development Director of unusual situation s or unresolved issues

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 year of age
- Previous experience and education in Early Childhood Development is desired
- Must become CPR and First Aid certified.
- Must provide a negative T.B. clearance
- Must have Federal fingerprinting done with a clear criminal background.
- Must take Blood Borne Pathogens, Child Abuse, and YMCA New Employee Orientation training within 30 days of hire

The custodial staff is responsible for keeping the YMCA building, equipment, and grounds in a safe, clean, and functional manner. The health and safety of our members is paramount. Cleaning and maintaining the facility and equipment is critical to our success as a business. The overall impression our guests receive should be positive at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent communication skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Prior experience in maintenance and/or janitorial work is preferred.
- Must have a friendly, outgoing and helpful personality, along with an understanding of working with people from diverse backgrounds. Ability to multitask is essential.
- Must be able to operate various types of cleaning equipment, including, but not limited to: floor finishers, vacuums, carpet extractors, ladders, and general cleaning equipment and standard hand tools.
- Must have good command of the English language to take direction, write work orders, and read and understand chemical labeling and material safety sheets.
- Must be able to work in awkward, cramped or poorly lit areas, stand for periods of up to four hours, have sufficient manual dexterity to operate tools and cleaning equipment, and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Follow all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Complete incident and accident reports as necessary.
- Be consistently on time, help substitute. Attend staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
